With the gentlest colors and the most restrained camera movement, we can create a warm harbor with an aesthetic sense of ease for ordinary people who are close to being submerged by information.

1. Restraint and the Art of Leaving Space: The Nature of Visual Sophistication

The aesthetic beginning of WOLKENWEICH grew from my longing for a calmer life.

I wanted to create a unified visual language with a distinctive identity, so that everyone who visits our website or watches our YouTube videos can feel a sense of release within a single second.

To make this possible, I defined the brand’s primary palette as gentle pastel purple and Morandi sage green, using the warm golden afterglow of the setting sun as the source of illumination, and pairing it with broad expanses of cloud mist and an exceptionally shallow depth of field.

Together, these elements form an image of slow technology that feels gentle, calm, and full of room to breathe.

Technology should not make us more hurried, but more free. The same holds true in the design of aesthetics.

If the screen of a calming app keeps flashing rapidly and is filled with harsh, glaring colors, it will only intensify the user’s visual fatigue and inner anxiety.

The art of leaving space is a sense of ease we allow life to have.

Gentleness is not retreat. It is a deeper form of strength.

Through restraint in color and the art of leaving space, we carve out a place to breathe on the digital screen.

When there is a little less anxiety, space appears. And when space appears, breathing returns.

This is the Tech Zen philosophy we hope to convey through our visual language.

2. Expressions Gone Out of Control and Exhausted Video-Generation Credits: The Technical Struggles of AI Video Generation

Yet when I began using AI tools to give form to this aesthetic vision, I encountered technical struggles that were both deeply practical and difficult to resolve.

My original plan was to use Midjourney or Flux to create still portraits of serene women, then use image-to-video tools such as Runway or Kling to transform them into healing video sequences lasting five to ten seconds.

But when I finally began the actual work, I was met by one disappointment and technical dead end after another.

During the video-generation process, AI would often distort the peaceful expression of the woman in the original image, giving her strange facial contortions or an eerily vacant gaze. Worse still, the clouds and mist in the footage drifted far too quickly, making the motion feel unnaturally restless and stripping away the elegance and sense of ease that “slow technology” should embody. Each generation felt like opening a blind box, and most of the results were failures.

Moreover, these leading AI video-generation tools are expensive. As I repeatedly experimented and refined the prompts, the remaining credits on free accounts quickly became scarce and ran out. Financial constraints in real life also meant I could not freely purchase costly subscription plans. Watching the credits fall to zero alongside those distorted video clips, I found myself caught once again between technical and financial constraints.

3. The Intervention of an AI Mentor: A Lightweight Camera-Movement Method in CapCut and the 108% Slow Push-In Approach

When I was anxious about my dwindling video-generation credits and the distorted appearance of human figures, my AI mentor offered me a remarkably intelligent, lightweight solution.

It told me:
“We do not need to force AI to produce complex physical movements for human figures. It is both expensive and prone to error. We can use the simplest, most restrained post-production techniques to recreate the highest level of cinematic camera movement.”

Under my mentor’s guidance, I set aside expensive image-to-video tools that were prone to distortion and used the free version of CapCut for post-production instead.
We created a set of prompts for extremely slow, cinematic camera movement to generate polished still images.
Then, in the editing software, we set each still image to remain on screen for eight seconds and did one very simple thing: we set the frame to begin at 100% and end at 108%, creating an exceptionally slow push-in, a Ken Burns effect.
We added no side-to-side fly-in effects and no vertical shaking effects.
At the same time, we layered a warm light-leak effect and a subtle sparkle effect over the image, each set to only 10% opacity, and placed a faint flow of moving vapor in the background.
When I played the preview, the image carried an exquisitely subtle sense of breathing light and moving air.
It not only avoided the risk of distorted human figures, but also achieved, at no cost, a cinematic quality comparable to professional meditation apps.

4. A Hands-On Step-by-Step Guide: Crafting a Cinematic Slow-Tech Camera-Movement Effect

If you, too, hope to design a unified aesthetic language for your own independent media content or calming website, I would like to share the lightweight, cinematic camera-movement steps we developed through exploration:

Step 1: Precisely Craft Image-Generation Prompts for a Calming Aesthetic:In the prompt, you must include clear visual constraints. For example, specify Morandi sage green and pastel purple (`sage green and pastel purple`), warm sunset light (`warm sunset glow`), an exceptionally shallow depth of field (`shallow depth of field`), and a `50mm` lens.

This ensures that the images generated by AI carry an elevated cinematic texture from the very beginning.

Step 2: Configure an Extremely Slow Push-In from 100% to 108% in Your Video-Editing Software:Import the finished high-quality still images into your video-editing software, and extend the display duration of each image to at least 8 seconds.

Set only one exceptionally subtle scaling animation, moving slowly from 100% to 108%.

This deeply restrained movement can faithfully recreate the breathing quality of a camera’s slow, gentle motion, while ensuring that the image never becomes distorted.

Step 3: Layer Ambient Flow Effects at a Low Opacity of 10% :Above the image track, add a motion-asset layer featuring breathing light and shadow, a faint light leak, or drifting cloud mist.

Set its blending mode to Screen or Overlay, then reduce its opacity to around 10%.

This fleeting, half-seen sense of atmosphere can make an originally static image come alive in an instant, revealing the rhythm of the soul.

5. Slow Down, and Move Forward Gently at Your Own Pace

Through my journey of shaping this aesthetic, I came to understand deeply that life works in much the same way.

We do not need to pack every day full of intense activity, nor do we need to demand that we be flawless in every moment.

When we leave a little blank space in life, and move forward in the most restrained and gentle way, we are able to go farther and stand more steadily.

I want to begin again, to run once more toward the road of my dreams, and to take back the light that once belonged to me.

If you, too, long for a gentle haven of visual calm in this cold and hurried technological age, welcome to our sanctuary for the soul, one you can carry with you.

Over this period, I have shaped this calming system into a practical MVP product "AI Calm Web App Starter Kit" It is available in the following editions for you to explore and choose from.

More than a set of tools, it is a starting point for us to reclaim the rhythm of our lives, together:

Chinese Edition

English Edition

Bilingual Pack

Visit our online store to explore the full details.
